Titles Can Sometimes Be Deceiving!

Titles Can Sometimes Be Deceiving!

Summer is over as we have know it since the early days of June. I know its just the end of July, but H began summer band camp last week so our days are filled with work again. The alarm is set on its weekly schedule of 5:30am, the cereal is in the cabinet and work clothes are pressed and in the closet. No more late breakfasts of bacon and eggs, fruit and toast, blueberry pancakes, French toast or waffles. I’ll be lucky if the cereal finds the bowl in those wee hours of the morning.

After three weeks of band camp and a week of teacher meetings the ritual will start all over again. After school rehearsals, Friday night games and weekend marching festivals are on the horizon. Along with that we will cram in Saturday football games at Troy and a stolen day on the weekend to finish up some of the projects we have been working on around the house. I’m tired already!

It’s time for me to get moving again too. I’m at a loss for words – written words that is. Too long away from the keyboard does that to you. Your mind goes to mush and your fingers fumble on the keys. I need inspiration and I need it now!

Last week we went into Books-A-Million and as I was browsing H looked at boat magazines. Yes – He wants a boat and although he has always wanted one he has held off until retirement and now that is in sight. Two more years. We are on the downhill slope now. We will see what happens.

Now, back to the subject of browsing. The smell of that bookstore hit me like a ton of bricks as we opened the door. I’ve been reading on my kindle for a few months and I realized at that moment how much the smell of a good book is almost as important as the contents. I’ve missed that. As I walked around touching and sampling first chapters and bio’s, and sniffing and breathing in the aroma surrounding me, the juices started flowing and the words were mingling with the unfinished chapters in my mind. I was ready to write again. It was time. So if you are stumped and can’t get those words on paper, go visit your local bookstore. It’s like a shot of adrenaline just when you need it.

Here is a little gem I came across while in the bargain book section! It caught my eye because H and I have been addicted to watching Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix all summer. I thought I had found the Holy Grail until I opened to the first page and realized it was a medical book of anatomy! 😉

You never know what is lurking behind closed doors!

You never know what is lurking behind closed doors!

Now that I’m all charged up from that visit I’m going to leave you to your reading and go write on ‘What Line’. Those words have mushroomed and  are about to explode in my head!

Hope you are enjoying your summer!
