What’s a normal dinner?

What’s a normal dinner?

It’s not often I do nothing, but today I almost took the day off. Now I feel bad that I didn’t accomplish more. If it had not been for the trip to Walmart for groceries, I wouldn’t have left the house.

I could not get warm all day even though the temps were in the 60’s. I think it was because I wasn’t up and moving around as usual.

H taught music lessons at the local music store from nine to three and didn’t even have a break for lunch, so I spent most of the morning procrastinating.

Before I left to wander the aisles of the grocery store, I had an unexpected request from a beta reader to read my first draft of Avoiding The Tilt. I was thrilled. Let’s hope he doesn’t tear it to pieces. I’m interested in seeing a man’s perspective on this story.

Finding beta readers has proven harder than I thought. If you are interested, contact me at knowles.elle@gmail.com.

Later this afternoon, after I made H a quick sandwich and insisted I did not want to go ride bikes or go see a movie, I fell asleep on the sofa. I dreamed I asked H if he wanted me to cook something for dinner. He replied, “No. Let’s have something normal like a banana.”

That didn’t happen. We had taco bread and cupcakes from Publix. I would have been happy with that banana.

  1. I am a big fan of doing nothing. I should figure out how to do it more often, and I salute you for deliciously wasting time. Like Oscar Wilde said, “There is no pleasure in having nothing to do. The pleasure lies in having a great deal to do, and not doing it.” What in the world is taco bread?

      Taco bread.
Thaw out a loaf of frozen bread dough. Spread and flatten into a rectangle. Season ground meat with taco seasoning and spread down the center third of dough. Add jalapeños, black olives and cheese on top of that. Braid the side thirds over the top of meat mixture. Let rise then bake as a loaf of bread. Slice and eat. We don’t have it often and that was left over from the night before! 😂
