I HAVE AN APP FOR THAT AND THAT…AND THAT!

I HAVE AN APP FOR THAT AND THAT…AND THAT!

How did I ever survive before the days of cell phones with apps? I had to actually go to my computer to check Facebook, therefore I spent way less time surfing the content. As soon as I opened my WordPress account I downloaded the WordPress app on my phone and now I spend too much time scrolling through my reader and checking stats.

I used to think – years ago – a good app for a cell phone would be a mirror app. Now there is one. It’s called the self-facing camera. Not that I know too much about that cool app that really isn’t an app but built in.  My cell phone only performed that neat function for six months – and I suggest you take heed women. You could be next! You can read about those careless and not so careful ordeals here and here. You would think I had learned my lesson the first time!

When checking, I realized I have twenty-seven apps on my phone. Who thinks this is too many? It is when you can’t update your phone because there is not enough space left. It is when you realize you don’t even use half of them.

I downloaded an app called Moment a few weeks ago. Description – track how much you use your iPhone each day automatically. Do I really want or need to know this? No I don’t! It’s been sitting there glaring at me every day and I’m afraid to open it. I may never open it. Maybe I should delete it?

I can’t get rid of my Pinterest, Etsy, Jo-Ann, or Walmart apps. I racked up $32.00 in savings on Walmart in three months. It would be more if I would let H have free reign in that store!

The Pandora app I use when I run. It’s been a little lonely lately waiting for the weather to warm up. 😦

Words With Friends, Trivia Crack, and Two Dots are my game apps. I can’t get rid of Words with Friends because it the only way I can insure my children…and H…know I am smarter than they are.  😉 In the word division anyway! Trivia Crack could be easily deleted. I haven’t won a game yet and my girls let me know it. Two dots is my back-up for killing time when we are traveling in internet free areas which is often when visiting Andrew.

I have a PayAnywhere app I have used about five times in three years. Sometimes when I collect for alterations people seem to think that I have a card machine attached to my belt loop. Now I do and they don’t ask so much anymore. I’m not sure I even know where that attachment for my phone is.

Andrew thought I needed an Audubon Birds app. It’s pretty cool, but I don’t have much time to bird watch. He also decided I needed Zello so I could be at his beck and call if he needed me – or money – whichever comes first. I don’t think he reinstalled it when he got his new phone because I haven’t heard from him on it. But my trusty bank app is working away so if he does make contact I will have all the answers for him concerning his money or lack of…

I downloaded a Regal app for the very reason I am the only one who knows how to look up what is playing at the movies. And I’m supposed to know the answer when H asks this.

I know there are more, but this narrows it down to my social media apps – Twitter, WordPress, LinkedIn, tumblr, and Facebook.  Eenie, meenie, mienie, moe – tumblr goes! I only downloaded it to see what it was all about and decided – NOPE! – I do not need another social media app or account for that matter!

H doesn’t have as many apps on his phone, but he has twenty-one pair of khaki pants ranging from black and navy and three shades of tan hanging in the closet. He had me beat. He purged…two pair. Then last week while shopping he picked up two more pair on sale. I said sweetly, “Sure Honey. You need those since you only have nineteen pair hanging in the closet.”

He glared at me. You know how they do when they think you are being facetious – and I was. Most women have to get rid of ties when their husbands retire – and he has a good number of those too – I’ll have to  dispose of khaki’s!

Ties, apps, khaki’s…six of one, half-dozen of another. I’m not the only one in this situation. Or am I? This is clearly another case of too much stuff! Think of the closet space I could free up if some of those khaki’s disappeared. There could be some room for my clothes. And think of the space on my phone if I deleted some of those apps. I could update!
