WHEN IT’S TIME TO LIGHTEN THE LOAD

WHEN IT’S TIME TO LIGHTEN THE LOAD

I had this post all written out in my head and yet another catastrophe has arisen! Someone always needs something. What next? It has been two days since I sat down at my laptop and opened up WordPress. Yep! And that’s not like me. I don’t remember ever being this busy at this time of year before.

So much to do and so little time it seems. And of course I am waaaay behind. You wanta list? I can give you a list…

  • Andrew’s FASFA – This should have been done last month and yes, I know he should be doing this, but it’s like pulling teeth. I wonder if I could pay someone to do this for me. Hmmm? Maybe I could pay Andrew. I know he could use some extra money since I just checked his bank account to see how much I needed to add to it so he can pay his deposit on the house he and his roommates are relocating to in July. Soooo…there is a $152 deduction from his account to the Troy bookstore. Once again he did not turn in the book he rented last semester on time – actually, not at all – so they deducted the total from his account! You would think he would have learned the first time. ;(
  • Colorguard – It’s that time of year. New colorguard for WHS needs to be measured and I get elected. (Thank you H.) It would be nice if they could all show up for the meeting I called and sent umpteen dozen emails out reminding them of. Two were no-shows so now I have to make special plans to be back in DFS – an hour away from me – for them. Can’t depend on them to send me measurements because they don’t know what end of the tape measure is what and have no idea where their waist is on their body.
  • Pillows – I have 22 pillow covers to make plus a few more to pick up next week to make by the end of the month. No wonder I have no time to write – but it helps to pay the bills! And speaking of writing…
  • Write on my Alaska book and on ‘What Line’ – You notice what gets pushed down to the bottom of the list? 😦 The one thing I really want to be doing. The Alaska book is going smoothly and I am trying to get ‘What Line’ back up to speed. Having to rewrite all those chapters I lost is not a fun thing to do. This story may take a different turn in the process! I would love to have the majority of this knocked out in a few months.

So the reason I’m telling you all this – besides I really need to vent now – is because I am notifying you – my readers – you may not be hearing a lot from me in the next few months. Of course those first few items on my list will get accomplished in the next couple of weeks, but the writing will take longer.

I’m not leaving completely hanging though. I’ll be re-blogging some interesting posts and I’ll try to check in with an original post once or twice a week if possible. I’m just a notification away if you comment and I’ll keep up with that weekly.

Oh, I could post short little posts here as I do on Facebook, but I don’t want to treat my blog as just another Facebook page. It’s more important to me than that.

Stop by my author Facebook page to stay up to date on the happenings of my Alaska book and ‘What Line’. LIKE the page because you still have time to get in on the drawing for the $25 Amazon gift card. LIKE and SHARE with your friends and that gift card could be yours more quickly!

Now I have to go take care of those notifications over there that have been adding up and get to work shortening my to-do list! Please hang around!

  1. Oh sounds like you’re a prime candidate at the moment for reading War on Art. It’s filled with truths we never considered before…I’ll leave it with you…put it on your list 🙂

  3. I think what you wrote here is important since you clued us in. As a friend once told me, a blog entry doesn’t always have to be Gone With The Wind. It could be brief and pithy, airy and merely a line or two to keep your mind open and fingers agile. It’s so exciting you’re working on another book.

  4. I’ll keep a light on in the window for you. Will miss your posts, but as long as I know you’re coming back, that’s good. May the weeks bring you closure on other things, so we can read your words again soon. 🙂
